Extraordinary Adventures, Handpicked for You
Looking for somewhere a little different? Discover a handpicked collection of extraordinary places, unforgettable journeys and inspiring experiences — from destinations I’ve loved and would happily return to, to adventures that are still firmly on my own travel wish list.
Whether it’s sailing the Nile, staying at an iconic Caribbean hideaway, exploring Antarctica by expedition ship or travelling through the Canadian Rockies by rail, these are the kinds of experiences that capture what Discover the Frog is all about: travelling beyond the ordinary.
Goldeneye

One of the most iconic boutique resorts in the Caribbean, GoldenEye is located in Oracabessa on Jamaica’s north coast — around 20 minutes from Ocho Rios. The property is famous as the former home of James Bond creator Ian Fleming, who wrote all 14 Bond novels there.r
Originally built as Fleming’s private retreat in the 1940s, the estate was later owned by reggae legend Bob Marley before being transformed into a luxury resort by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell. Today it blends laid-back Jamaican style with understated luxury and creative history.
Egypt – A Journey I’d Love to Repeat

Some destinations leave such a lasting impression that you can’t help wanting to return. Egypt is one of those places for me.
I first visited in 1996 and, even now, the memories are as vivid as ever. Watching life unfold along the Corniche in Luxor, crossing the Nile by traditional felucca, and exploring the incredible Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens are experiences I’ll never forget.
After spending ten nights in Luxor at a hotel with its own floating platform on the Nile, I boarded a four-night Nile cruise from Aswan to back to Luxor. Cruising one of the world’s most famous rivers while stopping to explore ancient temples and monuments remains one of the most memorable journeys I’ve ever taken.
But Egypt still has plenty left for me to discover.
High on my wishlist are Cairo and Alexandria. I’d love to finally stand in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza, explore the incredible treasures housed in the Grand Egyptian Museum, wander through Cairo’s historic streets, and experience the rich history and Mediterranean atmosphere of Alexandria.
Egypt is a destination that blends ancient history, unforgettable scenery and timeless culture like nowhere else. Returning would feel less like revisiting somewhere I’ve already been and more like continuing a journey that began nearly thirty years ago.
