From wildlife encounters and small group adventures to expedition cruises, rail journeys, cultural escapes and tailor-made holidays, I help travellers discover experiences that are a little different from the everyday package holiday.
Whether you already know exactly where you want to go or simply have an idea of the type of adventure you’re looking for, I’m here to help turn it into a journey you’ll remember.
Hi, I’m Dawn, founder of Discover the Frog.
Travel has been part of my life since I first ventured abroad at 18, and over the years I’ve travelled independently, lived overseas and explored destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Americas.
I’ve travelled solo, joined small group adventures, sailed on cruises, explored countries by rail and sought out everything from wildlife and local food to unusual places well away from the typical tourist trail.
Those experiences eventually inspired Discover the Frog Adventure Travel, which I founded in 2019.
Today, I use both my personal travel experience and industry knowledge to help clients find holidays that suit the way they want to experience the world.
🐸 Why the Frog?
People often ask where the name Discover the Frog Adventure Travel came from — and it all started with Costa Rica.
When I was looking for a name for the business, I had been doing a lot of research into Costa Rica and had become fascinated by the country. It seemed to have something for everyone: incredible wildlife, rainforests, volcanoes, beaches and plenty of opportunities for adventure.
Of course, Costa Rica is famous for its sloths, but one little creature particularly caught my attention — the colourful red-eyed tree frog, one of the country’s most recognisable inhabitants.
I was already thinking about words such as adventure, exploring and discovering, and somewhere along the way the idea of the frog appeared.
And that was it.
Discover the Frog Adventure Travel was born. 🐸
Since then, the frog has become much more than part of the name. Adventure Frog is now our travelling mascot, popping up throughout the website and joining us on adventures around the world — a little reminder that sometimes the best travel experiences are the ones that encourage you to explore somewhere new and travel beyond the ordinary.
