🇩🇪 Discover Germany

Germany is a destination I’ve returned to for many different reasons — history, music, culture, Christmas markets and simply enjoying the journey. It’s a country where every region seems to offer something different, from vibrant cities and medieval towns to dramatic river valleys, forests and fairytale castles.

Berlin holds a particular place for me. I visited to reconnect with its history and reflect on how dramatically the city has changed. Exploring remnants of the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie and the places connected with Germany’s divided past makes Berlin a fascinating destination for anyone interested in 20th-century history.

Germany has also been part of my life in other ways. I’ve seen concerts here and even lived and worked in Germany for a few months, giving me the opportunity to experience the country beyond simply visiting as a tourist.

Then there are the experiences that make Germany particularly enjoyable — wandering through Christmas markets, sampling local food and drink, exploring historic towns and taking in the scenery along the country’s rivers.

One of my favourite ways to experience Germany is on a Rhine River cruise. Sailing past vineyards, medieval castles, pretty riverside villages and historic towns gives you a completely different perspective on the country — and it’s a wonderfully relaxing way to travel.

From Berlin and Munich to the Rhine Valley, the Black Forest, Bavaria and the Romantic Road, Germany offers an incredible mix of history, culture, scenery and experiences.

And perhaps that’s what makes Germany so appealing: you can visit for a city break, a river cruise, a Christmas market, a cultural adventure or a much longer journey — and still have plenty left to discover. 🐸✈️
