🎬 GoldenEye: Follow the Film Around the World

Pierce Brosnan’s Bond debut, GoldenEye, takes us on a spectacular journey from the glamour of Monte Carlo to dramatic Alpine landscapes, tropical Puerto Rico and the streets of London.

The film’s locations span Monaco, France, Switzerland, Puerto Rico and England, with Russia also featuring in the story. Many of the scenes set in Russia were recreated elsewhere, including in the UK, making the real filming locations just as fascinating as the destinations portrayed on screen. 

Explore the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland, where one of Bond’s most famous opening sequences was filmed, the glamorous casinos of Monte Carlo, the mountain roads of southern France, and the spectacular former Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico, which stood in for the film’s Cuban finale. 

And then there’s England, where London landmarks, St Pancras and locations across the country helped bring the story to life — including scenes cleverly disguised as St Petersburg. 

Of course, there is one destination that deserves its own special mention: Jamaica. Although GoldenEye itself wasn’t filmed there, the film takes its name from Ian Fleming’s Jamaican home, GoldenEye, where he wrote many of the original Bond stories.
