Like a unique and beautiful flower, mimicking its wild surroundings, Lapa Rios Lodge sprouted from the heart of one of the last lowland rainforests in Central America. With 1,000 acres of protected forest, home to some of the worldโs most astonishing biodiversity, this special place never fails to deliver astonishing natural experiences.

Sustainability at Lapa Rios Lodge
Lapa Rios protects over 1000 acres of Central Americaโs last remaining lowland tropical rainforest and runs a Plant-a-Tree reforestation program. 100% of the electricity consumed at the lodge is clean generated by hydroelectric turbines and solar panels. A small on-site pig farm produces biogas for the staff kitchen and the edible garden produces herbs and greens. Lapa Rios also runs an innovative program, training nature guides to maintain ecotourism in the community as the main source of income.
