Where to Stay in Brașov

Brașov has a great choice of places to stay, from characterful accommodation tucked inside the historic Old Town to stylish modern hotels just beyond the centre.

I’ve stayed in Brașov myself and have experienced a few very different options, so I’ve included some personal recommendations alongside other hotels worth considering. Whether you want to wake up right in the heart of the medieval city, prefer a little more space and modern comfort, or are looking for somewhere convenient for exploring Brașov and the surrounding mountains, there are plenty of choices.

For me, location makes a big difference in Brașov. Staying close to the Old Town means you can step straight out into the atmospheric streets, cafés and squares, while hotels outside the centre can offer excellent facilities and easy access by taxi or public transport.

Below you’ll find some of the hotels I’ve personally experienced, along with options to consider for your own Brașov adventure.

🏡 Casa Chitic – Nicolae Bălcescu

Central, characterful and right on the doorstep of Brașov’s Old Town

I stayed at Casa Chitic during my March visit and really liked its location. Situated on Nicolae Bălcescu, it puts you right in the heart of Brașov, with the historic Old Town, restaurants, cafés and many of the city’s main sights all easily accessible on foot.

It has more of a local accommodation feel than a large international hotel, making it a lovely choice if you want to stay centrally and experience Brașov from a more intimate base.

Why I’d consider it:
📍 Right by Brașov’s Old Town
🏘️ Local, characterful feel
🚶 Excellent for exploring on foot
🍽️ Restaurants and cafés close by
🏔️ A great base for exploring Brașov and beyond

✨ Qosmo Brașov

Contemporary comfort with a convenient location

I stayed at Qosmo during a travel-agent trip in September and found it a very different proposition to Casa Chitic.

It’s outside the historic centre, but getting into central Brașov by taxi is easy and inexpensive, and it’s also walkable if you’re feeling energetic! 😁

One of its biggest advantages is its location for transport, with Brașov train and bus stations nearby, making it particularly practical if you’re exploring the region independently or travelling onwards.

There’s also a shopping centre directly opposite and a McDonald’s just around the corner, so you have plenty of everyday conveniences close at hand.

Why I’d consider it:
✨ Modern and comfortable
🚕 Easy and inexpensive taxi journey into the centre
🚆 Close to the train station
🚌 Convenient for the bus station
🛍️ Shopping centre opposite
🍔 McDonald’s just around the corner
🥾 Walkable into town for the energetic traveller!

⭐ Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest

5-star comfort on the edge of Bucharest’s historic centre

We also visited the Radisson Blu during our time in Bucharest. Located on Calea Victoriei, it offers a more traditional full-service luxury hotel experience, while still being within easy walking distance of the Old Town and many of Bucharest’s major sights.

It’s a good option if you’re looking for 5-star facilities and the convenience of a central location, without needing to stay right in the middle of the Old Town.

With restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness facilities and a pool, there’s plenty on site too — making it a particularly appealing choice if you want to combine sightseeing with some time to relax.

Why consider it:
⭐ 5-star hotel
📍 Central location on Calea Victoriei
🚶 Easy walk to the Old Town
🏛️ Close to the Romanian Athenaeum and Revolution Square
🏊 Pool and wellness facilities
🍽️ Multiple restaurants and bars
✨ A more traditional luxury-hotel experience

Where to Stay in Brașov

Brașov has a fantastic range of accommodation, from characterful properties right in the heart of the Old Town to modern hotels with excellent facilities just outside the centre.

I’ve featured three properties here that I’ve either personally stayed at or visited, so I can give you a little more insight than you’ll find in a standard hotel description.

Casa Chitic – Nicolae Bălcescu is a charming local property right in the Old Town, making it a great choice if you want to step outside your door and explore Brașov on foot.

Qosmo Brașov offers a more modern and contemporary stay. It’s outside the Old Town but conveniently located close to the train and bus stations, with a shopping centre nearby. Getting into the centre by taxi is easy and inexpensive.

Radisson Blu Brașov sits on the edge of the Old Town and offers a higher level of comfort and facilities, including a spa and pool – a good option if you’re looking to combine sightseeing with a little relaxation.

These are just three of the accommodation options I can arrange in Brașov. There are plenty more to choose from, including boutique hotels, apartments, guesthouses and larger international properties.
