Labuan Bajo is the natural gateway to Komodo National Park, but it’s worth allowing a little extra time here rather than simply arriving and heading straight onto the boat. 

🐒 Batu Cermin (Mirror Cave)
Just a few kilometres from Labuan Bajo, this limestone cave gets its name from sunlight reflecting off sections of the cave walls. The surrounding forest is also home to wildlife including long-tailed macaques. 

💧 Rangko Cave
A particularly unusual experience — a spectacular turquoise seawater pool hidden inside a limestone cave. It can be visited as a half-day excursion from Labuan Bajo. 

🌿 Cunca Wulang & Cunca Rami Waterfalls
For a change from islands and beaches, head inland to Flores. These waterfalls and forest landscapes offer hiking, swimming and a glimpse of a very different side of the region.

Bukit Cinta, Puncak Amelia and Puncak Silvia are popular viewpoints around the town, with sweeping views across the islands and sea — particularly beautiful around sunset.
