✈️Some expedition cruise operators offer fly cruises to Antarctica. Departing from airports in southern Chile, guests fly across the Drake Passage directly to Antarctica (typically to the air strip at the Chilean Frei Station on King George Island), bypassing the stormy Drake Passage. Flying across the Drake Passage also allows guests to reduce the number of days spent travelling – ideal for those whose time is limited. It must be noted however that aircraft operations in Antarctica are extremely weather-dependent, and guests must be prepared for delays/cancellations.
