Although I wasn’t lucky enough to spot one of Costa Rica’s elusive jaguars (how incredible would that have been!), I did spend time searching for sloths. They’re surprisingly difficult to find when they’re curled up asleep high in the trees—which is exactly why having an experienced local naturalist guide makes all the difference. Their ability to spot wildlife hidden deep within the rainforest is nothing short of amazing.
